Chapter 1
Chapter one in points
1 - Gulliver was born in a farm in the middle of England. His father called him Lemuel Gulliver. He studied for three years in Cambridge University. After that he became an apprentice to a surgeon called Mr. Bates. After finishing his studies , he worked as a surgeon on a ship called " The Swallow" for three and a half years.
2 - He got married to a kind woman called Mary Burton . They stayed in London, but it was not easy to find work. He took another job on a ship for six years so , he earned good money and learned several languages.
3 - His life changed in 1699 when he got a job on a ship called the Antelope. After two month on this ship , there was a storm and the ship sank, but he saved himself by climbing into a lifeboat. All the crew drowned, but he could swim to the shore of an island.
4 - When he reached the shore he was cold, wet and exhausted so he slept for a long time. When he got up, he couldn't stand up as he was fastened hard to the ground. He heard noises and something climbed his body , This thing was a human who was only 15 cm tall and was carrying a bow and an arrow.
5 - Gulliver tried to know who they were, he found that there were forty of them around him. When they heard Gulliver's voice , they moved away from him. They began to shot him with arrows so he decided not to move. The men realized that he didn't want to escape so they became quiet and confident.
6 - The men began to build a platform for an important man so that he could talk to Gulliver. The man was wearing important-looking clothes, the man began to talk , but Gulliver couldn't understand him.
7 - Gulliver tried to give him information about himself as his name and that he was lost in a storm, but the man couldn't understand , either. As Gulliver was so thirsty and hungry, he pointed to his mouth to show the man that. They gave him many baskets of food and containers of water.
8 - After that the king arrived and spoke to Gulliver , they communicated with each other using hand signs. Gulliver asked him to set him free , but the king refused and decided to take him to the capital Lilliput on A machine that was used for carrying huge trees. This machine was pulled by horses.
9- On the way to the capital , they put some medicine in his food to make him sleep. He only woke up when one of the soldiers put a pole in his nose to see what would happen. Gulliver sneezed and the man ran away.
10 - When he woke the next morning he found that he was chained to the gates of the old building. Opposite this building there was a tower where the king could watch him. During the next days people came from the city to see him. Some people (six)tried to shoot him with arrows, but the soldiers arrested them and pushed them towards Gulliver.
11 - The men were afraid when Gulliver picked them up and put five of them in his pocket and held one of them in his hand, he looked at him and picked a knife. The little man and the guards looked horrified as they thought he was going to eat him. Gulliver moved the knife towards the man ----------

Chapter 2
Chapter in points
1 - Gulliver used his knife to cut the ropes that tied the small man's hands , He took the other men from pockets and set them free.
2 -The guards told the king about the kindness of Gulliver when he set the men free. The king decided to make him a bed. The workmen fixed about 6 hundred beds together to make this bed.
3 - on the following days people came from villages to see Gulliver and this worried the king a lot as there were not enough people to work in the fields . so a result the king made a law saying that no one could see Gulliver without a licence and they had to pay for.

4 - The king had some worries concerning Gulliver. He was worried about what would happen if Gulliver escaped. The second was how they could afford to keep him. As a result the king decided that people had to supply 60 cows, 40 sheep , bread and fruit everyday to feed Gulliver. To guard him the king decided to employ about six hundred people and pay for them. These guards lived in tents near Gulliver's home. The king also appointed some of his adviser to teach him their language.

5 - During that time the king used to visit Gulliver and began to talk to him in his language. When Gulliver began to understand the king, he asked the king to set him free, But the king said that it would take time.

6 - The king asked Gulliver to be patient and let the soldiers search him for any weapons. The king said anything they found, would be kept and given to him again when he would leave .The soldiers found a sword and some guns ., But they didn't see the glasses and other things in the secret pocket.
7 - When Gulliver fired the guns without the bullets the men fell to the ground because of the noise. Then Gulliver showed the king his watch and the watch puzzled the king so much. He didn't understand what it was for and why it made continuous noise. The king ordered the soldiers to take Gulliver's things to his palace to be examined by experts.
8 - Now the people understood that Gulliver was not dangerous and they were no longer afraid . Children played games around him. Gulliver hoped that he would be set free and did everything to please the king. The king invited Gulliver to important events such as the best athletes. The winner of the competition was given a colored ribbon .
9 - One day the king decided to show Gulliver the size of the army. The soldiers rode their horses in a line between Gulliver's legs. The people were watching that happily and were clapping.
10 - Everyday Gulliver used to ask the king to free him and that was possible , but one of the King's advisers called Skyresh didn't want Gulliver to go and only agreed after the promises that Gulliver should make.
11 - The promises that Gulliver had to make to be set free :
1 - He shouldn't enter they city without their permission.
2 - He shouldn't step on any one of Lilliput.
3 - He shouldn't lie down in any field.
4 - He mustn't leave the country without a licence.
5 - Finally, he must promise to fight for the king against enemies of Blefuscu. Gulliver agreed happily to all these promises.
12 - When Gulliver saw the king , he bowed to him to thank him. The king asked Gulliver To be a useful servant and prove that the king was right when he set him free. Gulliver promised him to do his best and asked the king to see his great city Mildendo. The king agreed and asked him to be very careful not to damage any building or hurt any of the people. The king made a note to warn people about Gulliver's visit.
13 - After two weeks Gulliver was visited by an important official called Reldresal who told him about the two problems that face the king. The first was inside . The problem was about wearing shoes with high or low heels. The Other problem was outside . The king expected to be attacked by their enemies from Blefuscu. Reldresal explained how the war began. There was disagreement about how to break an egg. As a result the king made a law that everyone should break an egg at the smaller end and he would punish people who would open an egg at the larger end.
14 - As a result of this law there were rebellions who ran away to Blefuscu. The king wanted Gulliver to help them defend the country . Gulliver agreed to help the king and Reldresal said he was happy as Gulliver agreed and would tell the king.

Chapte 3

1 - Blefuscu was an island about 800 meters to the northeast of Lilliput. The people of Blefuscu did not know anything about Gulliver because there was no communication between the two countries.

5 - The soldiers of Blefuscu started to shoot him with arrows and he used his glasses to protect his eyes. He noticed that the ships didn't move so he used a knife to cut the ropes.
6 - The king of Lilliput was waiting nervously and thought that Gulliver had drowned. Gulliver soon reached back and shouted " Long live the king of Lilliput ." and they welcomed him like a hero. The king gave him the most important medal in the land.

7 - With the help of Gulliver, the king wanted to punish his enemies and put them in prison, but Gulliver refused so the king became angry and changed his mind about Gulliver. Gulliver's situation in Lilliput changed and became more dangerous.

8 - After three weeks a group of six officials from Blefuscu came to meet the king of Lilliput to end the war peacefully and met Gulliver to thank him for not hurting any of their people. They invited Gulliver to visit their country and meet the king. He promised them to do that.

One of the king's advisers came to see Gulliver and told him some people as Flimnap, the treasurer and a top person in the navy suggested that it would be better to remove Gulliver from their country as he cost much money. Some advisers told the king that Gulliver might work with the king of Blefuscu so they wanted to punish him.
10- Gulliver was worried when he heard the ways they were going to use to punish him. Some suggested shooting him with poisonous arrows. Others suggested setting fire to his house. But the king didn't want to kill him and they all agreed to make him blind so they could benefit from him . Flimnap , the treasurer said that he would still need food so it was finally agreed that they shouldn't give him food to save the king's money.

11 - Gulliver thought of fighting the king and destroy the city, but he remembered the ordinary people and the fact that the king was kind to him. Finally he decided to take a ship to escape to Blefuscu. He met the king of Blefuscu , but he didn't tell him anything about his problems in Lilliput.

12 - One day Gulliver saw an old ship in the sea .He decided to repair it to use it to go home. The king of Blefuscu received a letter from the king of Lilliput saying that he must send Gulliver back as he escaped punishment, but the king refused and let Gulliver go. The king came to see Gulliver off, he gave him a painting of himself and some tiny animals. He left Blefuscu on 24 September 1701.

Chapte 4
Chapter in points

1 - Gulliver started his second voyage on " the adventure" on 20th June 1702 with the captain of the ship John Nicholas . They were planning to go to India. When they reached South Africa, they stopped for fresh water.
There , they discovered that the ship had a hole and the captain fell ill , so they had to spend all winter there.

2 - They left passing the island of Madagascar. The wind became stronger and they sailed against the wind for about twenty days. When the wind became calm, Gulliver was glad , but the captain told him not to be glad because his experience told him that a great storm was coming.

3 - The captain was right, there was another storm after two days. They took down the sails to control the ship , but the wind controlled the ship and they didn't know where they were. Luckily, the ship was strong and they had good supplies of food. There only problem was that they didn't have much fresh water.

4 - On 16 June 1703, they found land and they got closer to it . They found it was a bay. The captain thought that it was not deep enough to go on , so they put down the anchor near the coast. The captain asked twelve men to go ashore in a small boat to find fresh water. Gulliver asked the captain to go with the men and the captain agreed.

5 - They reached the beach, but they didn't see any people nor any fresh water. They decided to walk along the beach to look for a stream or a spring. Gulliver walked alone for about an hour. The place didn't attract him as there were no trees and full of rocks. So, he decided to return to the beach.

6 - When Gulliver reached the beach, he found that the sailors were rowing and leaving in the small boat. Gulliver was about to call out to them , but he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a giant walking into the sea towards the boat. Gulliver ran as fast as he could. He climbed a hill and was surprised.


7 - On the hill, he was surprised because he saw many fields with very long grass with six meters high. He walked along a wide rough road through the fields. After about one hour he reached the end of the field and found a huge wall. Although the walls had steps, Gulliver couldn't climb them as they the step was two meters high.

8 - Gulliver saw a giant man of the same size as the person on the beach. When Gulliver saw the man , he was terrified. The man called other men . The men were seven and were carrying scythes to cut the wheat. Gulliver tried to hide but the men were getting closer and closer to him. Gulliver was exhausted and began to think of his family and his friends who advised him not to make that journey.

9 - During that he remembered Lilliput where he was important6 and strong. He realized that nothing was big or small unless we compared it with something else. Suddenly , Gulliver saw that one of the giants was walking towards him. He was afraid that the man might stand on him so he shouted loudly. The giant stopped and too Gulliver with his fingers. When the man picked him up, Gulliver looked at the sun and began to pray that the man wouldn't throw him onto the ground.

10 - Gulliver told the man that he was hurting him. The man carefully put him in his pocket and ran to find his master . The man looked at him and asked his men if they had seen an animal like him before. The man put Gulliver on the ground . Gulliver walked up and down to show that he was not going to run away, he took off his hat and bowed to the farmer. Gulliver took out a bag of gold coins and offered it to the man. The man ordered his men to go back to work. The man then put Gulliver inside his enormous handkerchief to take him to his house to show his wife.

11 - When the wife saw Gulliver she screamed like a child as if she saw a big spider. On having his food with the family (man-wife-three children and grandmother) , the man put Gulliver on the table. The wife gave him a plate of food , luckily , Gulliver had his own fork and knife that he used for eating. They children were pleased and offered him water in a cup, but he couldn't drink as it was huge. He thanked the children for the water.

12 - The farmer's son who was about ten years old picked Gulliver and held him by his leg so high, but his father took Gulliver and put him on the table saying something angrily to the boy. Gulliver was afraid that the boy might hurt him later so he asked his father not to punish him.

13 - Suddenly , Gulliver saw a cat of the size of three cows. He was intelligent and tried to prevent it from attacking him by walking up and down in front of it. The main thing that worried him after that was the baby girl who thought that Gulliver was a toy and wanted to play with him. The girl started to put him in her mouth , so he shouted. The girl was afraid and dropped him to the ground.
